Eighty years ago, after years of violent conflict raging across the globe, the Second World War finally ended; Americans had put all of their efforts into the cause, whether they volunteered to join the military and fight, worked to build what is now known as the Arsenal of Democracy, planted Victory Gardens, or donated to the War drive. We feel it's an appropriate time to recognize their collective contributions.

Screaming Rebels War Birds Fly over!
|
Experience the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Scream N’ Rebels War Birds, a proud squadron of vintage aircraft that pays tribute to our nation’s heroes. Based at Flint Bishop International Airport, this group has been captivating audiences since 1992, when it was founded by the esteemed Jim Greason, a former United States Air Force combat pilot. Today, under the leadership of Chief Pilot Bruce Koch, they continue to honor the legacy of those who served. The squadron features a remarkable collection of World War II aircraft, including the rare Vultee BT-13 SNV-1, one of only two still flying in the United States.
Alongside it, the North American Aviation AT-6 Texan and T-34 Mentor showcases the rich history of military aviation, having trained countless pilots and served in various roles across the globe. Another squadron air craft, the AT-6 Texan, is located at Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum in Detroit. Once used by the celebrated African American aviation unit “Red Tails.” The rest are based throughout Michigan. Their patriotic flyover culminates in their signature “missing man” formation—a poignant aerial salute to those who have sacrificed for our country. As the music of “ Hymn To The Fallen” by John Williams fills the air, we invite all attendees to stand in silent tribute, honoring the brave men and women who have served. |
