A Salute to the Music of flint and Genesee County

Rock n' Roll, Hip-Hop, Blues, Soul, Jazz, Country, Gospel and Punk...you name it, Flint and Genesee County have produced great music and musicians.  We even have one of our own disc jockeys in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame!  GCHS President, Gary L. Fisher's retrospective of the abundant and diverse forms of music that were created here was woven with history and music.  Guest speaker, Sam Thompson, former music industry executive and chief of security to Elvis Presley, spun his spellbinding stories of what it was like to be behind the scenes, working with Elvis. All-in-all, it was a special, one-of-a-kind event.  Held in the Blackbox in the lower level of the Capitol Theater in downtown Flint, attendees were entertained in a moody, club-like atmosphere.  And as always, every seat in the house was filled!
